in mine, odd topic would be a bottom folder, and then any comment can be used to create a thread, so the comments are the thread titles, and then the threada are created after it, in faf off topic is not a bottom folder because the games are withen it, so it would have to be a category, but that won't break stuff

Oh I see well still many users are on this site if alot of people makes threads then the discord channel list will be a big whole list not really... well visually appealing

i think discord forums has some searching, but i cannot use those on a private server

in my thing, test would be another folder category


but this is me asking if the fa discord would look like that

Well, they don't call it Discord for nothin'. I was already seeing this trend, along with (oh so annoying) forums in "Facebook" mode, so on seeing the announcement my first thought was, "Of course it is".

The trouble with technology is that it's inhuman. It moves much faster than us, not always in a positive direction. The trouble with Discord is that "everyone" is using it, if they aren't using something more obscure (i.e. Mastodon).

You end up with a dozen servers, none of them all that interesting. With people shouting gibberish and expecting you to understand their "memeing". And still they call it progress.

You are in complete control of getting notifications, or muting them. In public Discord servers I'm in, I mute out every channel I don't care about, and some that I do (that move to fast).

My general advice is to start by muting everything, and selectively un-muting channels or forum posts (Discord has those too) that you have an interest in. That way you're not overwhelmed with notifications all the time. And if it's just too much in general, you can simply mute the entire server (either permanently, or a set period of time, e.g. 1 hour or 3 hours).

thats one of the biggest reasons im glad the forums are being shut down. ranking people based on how much they spam the forum was a stupid ass idea honestly

No offense to the people up in the ranks, but man, I can't imagine how being that high in the ranks is a badge of honor. I like this place, but yeesh, some of those post counts are absurd.

that's what i always thought, like how are you going to flex that you spend 5+ hours a day refreshing game threads to find any excuse to post on them. never made any sense to me.

We have ranking and level bots in the Discord, but they don't include the games sections. Only legit conversational parts. And they're not as in-your-face.
