Like, most I ever saw if it even being talked about was that time I hijacked a thread to joke about how the highest rank is the one really running this site and sparking a fake revolution.XD

I don't think I'm understanding the benefit having an overlap would bring. Forum will be going anyway. The amount of people joining Discord from the forum will be negligible compared to the main site. Moderation doesn't need an overlap to keep things under control or anything, and we're not going to not remove the forum based on Discord.

I’m an IT major this is something we talk about fairly often. There are really three types we have talked about. One, is what you’re about to do. Where you completely stop one thing and start another at the same time. This, while most cost effective (if everything goes to plan which it doesn’t really happen) however if there is an issue that issue gets exacerbated. Such as the discord not working and people can’t join and you just removed the way to talk with the people who’s service you just pulled.
There is also a layered opening where you take away some services from the original and integrate through tiers the new stuff while taking away old stuff. This gives you a fall back plan in case the new thing doesn’t work. Because we know the forums work they have been here for 17 years!
Then there is a sorta weird one that’s pretty much the thing I just explained but with more complicated steps and a different kinda like process. Same outcome.

nobody feels bad. don't flatter yourself. i asked a provocative question in jest and you decided to take a hypercritical stance on it. it quite legitimately just boils down to my belief that ranks are pointless. something i think everyone agrees with, lol.
