Furnation.com is DOWN, Hacked Possibly?

So it was confirmed Furnation.com is under a heavy DDoS attack, but with the recent mention on their facebook page that they lost a mass amount of accounts it seems they were likely hacked as well.

They are up for a minute or so every 30 mins atm, and to make matters worse the whole site is hosted on a Windows IIS box which is kinda well, pointless as far as security, and performance capacity.

They seem to be trying to move to CloudFlare but the hacker seems to have their Box's IP and is probably hitting it directly, which makes having CloudFlare completely useless.

The hacker has also begun taunting them on their homepage and shouts. I would link it but most likely they will be down still when you click the link so i took some screenshots when i finally got a pageload or few out the their dying windows box.

I offered my assistance via Skype, and IB to the Admin, and i havent heard a single word back......Maybe he intends to go down with the ship?

They are in coverup mode it seems, they deleted every trace of that user and his posts, but screenshots prevail. And i also found the security flaw that allowed them to be taken down so easily, read more in my post further down.

Social network page. Kinda like FA, but most of the art is actually kept on individual websites that FN just hosts. There's also blogs and a forum. It was one of the central hotspots of the fandom back in the early days ('90s-early 2000's), and is actually the first furry social site ever. A lot of pivotal furry artists had there stuff hosted here at some point, but a lot of 'em have moved on to other sites once DA, FA, Weasyl, etc. popped up.

I wonder why the hacker chose FN of all places? Was it just easier to break into? Seems to be going up and down periodically.

Seems now Furnation is trying to coverup the fact they got attacked and went down. Reyedog replied to my offer of assistance with a comment stating that there was no attack, and that it was all just some server issues.

Except ive never seen a server malfunction post Troll messages about hacking them and DDoSing their server, must be some mighty server issues, in other words hes lying, and they deleted all comments, and even the account completely instead of just banning it. Its a coverup.

Yeah there were 2 attackers including me, fursona and i came from the same website which i wont say, and i originally started the attack and then fursona saw my post and hit the site harder, but he even proved it to me, he warned the site of his attack and i said to prove that he was responsible and he sent it down and stopped the attack and the website immediately came back up. Our attack method was a layer 7 DoS attack, i used 2 dos scripts which i edited to make it a bit better. Proof of my attack: http://gyazo.com/110ed6b40c6347559d84377b71d37352
and yeah Reyedog denied the attacks even though it kept coming back and going down, thought i should clear that up for you guys.And no, i dont hate furries, it was nothing personal, i find you guys a tiny bit strange but that is ok with me, i just wanted to piss a bunch of people off.

a layer 7 dos attack, all that bandwidth, when you completely missed the bigger exploit that allowed my cell phone to down them, wow u guys must just be script kiddies to miss that big of a security flaw, that or you are clueless and making this up and werent actually involved.... The flaw i found in their system only took half of one megabit to knock them out completely for 10 minutes. But im a network engineer so i guess you guys are a bit behind the times.

Eh, I'll take it.

But if that's all true, you wouldn't be the first to attack that place. It's had it's history of ups and downs, but still managed to stick around for 20ish years. But it looks like things are back to as close to normal as it gets over there.

Also, for you own sake I'd discourage you from attacking other places. Furries are sorta used to taking it on the chin, but somebody's gonna take it personal one of these days.

I was actually im even banned from the site well at least my vpn is, what are you talking about lol? you are clearly lying it took 62.5 kilobytes to knock down their server ? lolwut and tell me, and plus...kinda strange how the site admins dont listen to the advice from a network engineer...i call bullshit why havent you told them about the flaw? if you did they should follow your advice. You can even ask them "Was N0tAB0tB0tAN0t a part of the attack?" Yeah it was only the 2 of us, Me And Adolf Hitler/Fur Sona (Adolf Hitler was his original name but someone told him to change it" at first he wanted to act like an innocent and i got pissed off but he later admitted to it.

I actually did tell them about the flaw, but the dude has no clue and banned me to keep me quiet from posting about the flaw, and refuses to acknowledge it. i doubt he even knows how to fix it or how it works. BTW, you are not the one who brought it down, your just trying to claim it for attention, go whine to someone else. i didnt say it took 512k to take it down, read the whole sentence, i used my 512k per second DSL line, and it was more then enough. IF your going to rebut a statement, read the statement properly.

FN's died and come back to life more times than Jean Grey. Ownership has changed hands a buncha times, too. A lot of the adult content was scaled back years ago because their new server host didn't allow it, and some of the oldest artist sites are there anymore. But it keeps on truckin'!

I've always had a soft spot for that place, since it was once the first furry sites I ever visited.

Your account being banned proves nothing.
If Xander indeed found a weakness in the site's security, he could easily have taken it down from any device with a internet connection.

There are other ways than simply brute force (DDOS) to break a site -.-

As you can read, Xander did attempt to notify FN about the weakness, but they wouldn't listen. Their loss...

Now stop bragging about DDOS-ing. It's not that impressive.

This was unfortunatly the case, i even got GreenReaper, the owner of FlayRah and wikifur involved he has been trying to tell them about what i found as well, they are refusing to acknowledge the whole event happenned even tho their site is down again now. They are covering it up saying oh its just our provider having issue, lying about it.
