Furry Human Lore Question

Hope it's ok to ask this type of a question here. The writing channel seemed to have more writing questions than setting/worldbuilding type questions.

I've not found much in the way of furry fiction and most of what I have found seems to have furrys replace humans in the setting (like Zootopia). Is there any type of general or common lore that deals with how furrys exist along side humans or why/where they exist without humans?

This is just something that nags at me anytime I start thinking of any furry focused narrative ideas and wanted to see if anyone had anything to share about it.

I love you all <3 We had a good run
Comes down entirely to the individual world's lore, really.

If you want a good one tho to check out, Twokinds is an amazing comic that not only has both humans and anthros, but a major part of the plot is the conflict between them. https://twokinds.keenspot.com/comic/1/

An imposter among aliens.
No general or common lore that I know about. The world around my latest writing project is sci-fi: Humankind and their technology created the others to meet their own needs and desires. As, over time, life tends to find its own way, the non-humans begin to develop independently of their master's plans. The future of this world is still in flux, as humanity loses their grip on their creations.

Not everyone's idea of a good 'furry' setting and lore, but I'm having a good time writing about it.

There isn’t any lore common to all of them, though a few have had some shared tropes, such as anthros being second-class citizens or some kind of human creation.

Master of Forgotten Lore
The furries can be aliens or the humans are the aliens invading the furry world.

Building a setting and wasn't sure how to deal with that. Though I can overthink things and get bogged down in the details. Good to hear other people's ideas.

Unless you're dealing with a custom species designed by someone else - i.e. Sergals or Dutch Angel Dragons - or are writing some kind of fan fiction for a pre-existing world like Zootopia, there really isn't any kind of general lore for the Furry fandom. Different people have different reasoning and approaches. You shouldn't feel constricted by convention, so long as your ideas make some kind of sense.

Personally I'd caution against too much background world-building, on the principles of 'Show, don't Tell' and 'Chekov's Gun'. There's a reason why most people skip the first chapter or two of 'Lord of the Rings'. Unless it's a vital lynchpin of the story, it probably isn't necessary to explain why there are talking animals wandering around, or where all the humans have gone. Concentrate on elements of the world's culture that develop the characters of the most important people in the tale.

Depends on how you want the furries to have gotten there and if you want humans to exist alongside them or not.

Hell, you can even have furries and humans breed together if you really want (that's what I automatically assume is happening every time I see a furry character with traits that they shouldn't have like more human-like faces or hair on reptiles or even sharks with legs).

All and all it's all a matter of how you want to build the world since it's all bull shit anyway.XD

In my story, in the first world, I went with two different ways, the majority was created by overeager humans, while a few came from different worlds (that is actually a big Plot hole I have yet to find a solution for).

In my second world, I just let them be there naturally.

In my overall understanding, there is no reason why evolution would only develop primates into an intelligent, self-aware species. Here on earth, it just so happend that it where the monkeys getting smart, on different planets/worlds/timelines, there might be other species taking that jump.
