Good links to explain furry?

Okay, so, I texted my new...boyfriend(?) earlier asking how he felt about furries and the first thing he asked was "a cat or dog?". Apparently he doesn't know what one is, even though he plays DND and likes fantasy stuff, so it surprised the hell outta me that he's never even heard of us. Anyone have any links to sites that actually do a good job at explaining what a furry is?

EDIT: What I find funny is, the number of times people make threads on here asking for links to such n such, when the person asking is using a computer themselves and could easily type it into google. Are people really becoming that lazy these days that they can't even do something that simple?

You would be surprised -- a lot of people are not capable of doing something that simple. Most people are complete fucking morons who can barely wipe their ass without someone else helping them. I run across this at work ALL THE TIME.

The problem they lack initiative and the self-confidence to be able to do simple shit like this. Unless you're brain damaged there's no excuse, either.

Don't show any links. All of them are biased. The main wiki is on a constant juggle between "Asspats and candy" and "They're a few bats short of a belfry." Encyclopedia Dramatica has, while a decent amount of truthful stuff, a similar (or greater) amount of bias and false facts thrown in there because the articles deserve some funnies too. Furry wiki is horribly biased in all matters furry (The Furry War was a valiant defense of free speech and furry rights!), so showing something from there is a bad idea.

Don't show a single site. Show several, each with conflicting viewpoints. It will make things much better than feeding false information that leads to "Lulz furfag" or "Hm, what's this "mature" filter for FA? ... HOLY SHIT WHAT THE HELL?!"

Or tell him straight up, it's someone with an affiliation with anthropomorphic animals.

Exactly, and if the person asks more questions, then be straight again and answer them truthfully.

Or you could just link to a couple of recent news articles that are un biased.

Your boyfriend seems kind of like me, I still play DND and I *sometimes* like fantasy stuff.
Tell him to do as I did, go to wikipedia and search it, check yiffstar for minor brain damage and go to a furcone(note:I never got into a furcon and I hope that if ill ever will ill just stand back becuase I don't want to listen to shit-too much csi tunes-).

You act as though the first link would be accurate. :rolleyes: Odds are it'd be made by a Furry trying to make an essay to show those "naughty, naughty trolls" how wrong they are. You can never go to just one site to learn what the Furry Fandom is.

Though be warned: He might not take it kindly, due to furries' tendency to destroy the image of every badass fantasy creature in existence with disturbing porn.

Not even kobolds are immune to the sexualization of furries...
