Good Memories You Have In The Fandom

So, I've been kind of a negative derg these past few months, and I have a habit of criticizing the furry fandom, more than saying what I love about it.

I figured, I'd make something that changes that today. Basically, what good things have happened to you in the fandom? Meeting artists, making friends, good convention memories, a heartwarming event, or really funny moments?

Pretty much anything goes, as long as it's positive and follows forum rules.

For me, I have met many great artists (Some of who hang out here with us^^), made a lot of friends on this forum, and also found some meaningful relationships. As for events, I've had so much fun in the Last Post Wins thread, with all the crazy and silly stuff that's happened there over the past years.

Most of it was on the forums!

Still remember when forum regulars were financially helped by other members in a big effort to overcome the risk of becoming homeless. Had a blast on the parties at Last Post Wins, am having awesome roleplaying moments on Predators vs. Prey (for someone who was never much into it, I think I've found myself comfier with the 4th-wall-breaking-casual-RP-with-no-strings-attached genre lol). Met fellow Latin Americans and shared things in common with them. Met Kéké's world of happiness through his smooth, inspired gifs, and Nexus's colorful party parrots. Went to my first convention with a self-made suit, so I thank the fandom for indirectly making me learn how to sew.

There's more but I gotta go for now~

Y'all probably know by now that I'm happily married thanks to the fandom (in a little more than a month it will be our 4th anniversary). Sure, we have a lot of other things in common, but the furry art was the thing over which we first got into contact, and an initial icebreaker.

For another heartwarming event I probably never told you before: a good couple of years ago I had an accident and got bumped up pretty bad. Upon hearing about that, two of my furry friends drove some 250 km in a raging blizzard to be there with me and cheer me up! I'm forever grateful about this.

I've met some amazing artists, came across many interesting characters, and made some (mostly) friendly acquaintances. I'm still bad at making actual friends, or maybe who I'd consider a "friend" is on way too high of a pedestal.

Anyway, I've had generally good experiences in the fandom I think. It hasn't exactly changed my life for the better but it gives me things to do.

Met some of the most amazing people I could ever dream of meeting.
Found my way in not only the fandom but also in life, and I couldn't be happier.
Objective goals that I am working towards are aplenty, and a lot have already been achieved.

Every day is a load of fun for me.

Being inspired by the art, getting back into drawing, going to Anthrocon, and meeting up with online friends. The last time I did anything furry-related IRL other than drawing was years ago, but my encounters with the fandom have been fun. Between my career, maintaining a home, and volunteer work my schedule is already full. Nevertheless, I hope to become more involved in the future.

In the meantime there's Second Life and VRChat, where I get to be a furry avatar. Full body tracking + mirrors take it to the next level.

You're living the dream. I don't even consider that to be a realistic option for me, and have resigned myself to dating normies.

clown virus was fun.

other than that most of my encounters with furries have been negative one way or another.

sorry for all the nice people out there but the jerks tend to be a lot more vocal.

i mean i'm pretty abmodel and the furries like that are either trolls for shock or jerks that try to excuse themselves.

normies spouting vi. urgh.
