Prynne
Phoenix Dragon
I'm Laura, and the character I've made is Prynne, the Phoenix Dragon. I'll be honest, I have some mixed feelings about the whole furry thing based on stereotypes that were how I found out about the fandom...but I've been watching a lot of Pocari Roo videos and I love them lol. So I decided to lurk around a bit and see what y'all are really like! I was started to wonder what kind of character I would make, and then I thought about my tattoo.
I got this on the third anniversary of the night I was hit by a drunk driver. I had just finished my sixth (and hopefully final!) surgery. I'm at four and a half years now, and I still have to use a cane some days. So, the whole facing my mortality thing led to my choosing a rising phoenix! I had also toyed with a dragon, which is how that came into play with Prynne. She's pretty much based on the kind of person I've become since that accident. She's stoic, easily angered, and a bit selfish, but on the inside she's still the same - shy, empathetic, and silly. Sometimes it's a bit of a battle between the two. I might even do another "form" for the inner side.
What I've got so far is the image in my avatar, which is kind of how I reimagined my tattoo if it was done more "realistically". I'm primarily a pencil portrait artist, so I don't have many coloring utensils at all, let alone good ones lol. #crayolapride
Drawing this actually made me feel pretty happy.
