Hamsters

Riyeko

Hai Thar.
Does anyone know much about hamsters on here?
This is probably the LAST place I should ask, but I live in an area, where the closest "rodent-able vet" is about, four hours away.. No joke.

Ugh.
Anyway, about a week and three or four days ago we bought two hamsters, one girl, one boy.
Aproximately the same age, great temperments in the car, store and basically everywhere else.
Until, five days after we brought them home.
The female, Lilly, is such an awesome hamster. Shes smart, explorative, and even licks our fingers (shes tasting lol).
Tiber, the male, on the other hand, is now a growling monster. He bites, even when we put new food in the cage, is aggressive; taking toys out or cleaning the cage I have to wear gloves, and he is constantly "growling" at us... a deep squeak thats meant as a threat (ive looked it up), rather than a friendly or caution noise.

Hes mean. Just absalutely mean. He was also harassing Lilly so badly; starting fights, dragging her around the cage by her tail and feet (and sometimes the soft underbelly), that we removed him out of the cage and put him in our "holding cage" (the one we use while im cleaning out the main cage).
Hes been there for about two days, and tonight we got a brand new 10 gallon aquarium tank from walmart. His own hotel.
As I was switching him to the new cage, he was slightly friendly. But I still didnt pick him up.
After the new bedding was in the cage and the little house was in there with toilet paper stuffed, I slowly slid him out of the holding cage and into the new one.
He ate some, drank a little bit, licked the new salt lick we got him, and then as I was putting the rest of a paper towel roll into the cage (for fun), he ran over (fuckers are quick!), and bit the hell out of my hand (the part between my thumb and wrist).
Seriously...

Anyway.
Long explanation done.
Does anyone know why this relatively young male (russian dwarf cambell) hamster would be so aggressive?

TL;DR Hamster is a total dick head that bites and growls. Why is he aggressive?

Cabin fever. You keep more than one holed up in a small space, they will sometimes go apeshit on one another. I've seen them do that before, and after some time separated, they get docile again. That or he's just a major asshole. :B

I think this is the most plausable thing... since hes been separated for about four days now....
