Handsewing vs Machine Sewing

Kellan Meig'h

Machine sewing is fast but the best strength comes from hand sewing. Also, by using a baseball stitch or whip stitch, you can work close to the edge of the fabric, leaving literally no seam allowance. Probably the best compromise for doing suits, not heads is a serger. The flatlock stitch, done by loosening the needle tension and tightening the lower looper, makes a stitch that pulls out flat, no seam allowance and practically invisible once the fur is picked out of the seam.

I use both.
However, for fursuit heads (especially the face), I hand stitch.
