Have you ever done something weird, related to animals ?

Niru the Husky

Can easily be persuaded with bacon...
When I was younger, I tried dry dog food and it tasted kinda good xD ? My parent's said that is isn't healthy and then I stopped.
Also food for guinea pigs which looks like some cereal ;D
At a friends house, they have a giant dog and a large bag filled with oatmeal for their dog. Everytime we passed the bag, we got a hand full of them and ate it. Really, it was good xD Better than some cereals.

Anything you did/tried ?

I used to eat cat food when I was a kid.

Sweet feed for horses tastes kinda good too. Not sure how weird that is since I’ve heard other horse people say the same thing lol.

Eh, I did kinda try dog food / cat food and some dog treats but they don't taste good. Plus I didn't want to eat it really, you don't know what exactly is in there. I remember Milkbones (the plain ones) kinda tasted like crackers though?

I tried cat food once. It tastes like it smells. Really salty...

I feed my cats a high quality grain free food. Salmon flavored, or beef flavored.

I tried the salmon one once and it actually tastes like fish. It’s not very good, but yeah.

If you can lick it, it's probably safe

I have eaten my horse's treats - I bought an expensive bag of treats and none of the horses liked them, so I tried them. They weren't that bad. Apparently the horses prefer cheap junk food.
When I was a kid, I took classes at the local zoo and they let us try "bear biscuits." They were kind of like dog biscuits, just little munchy treats for the bears.

Non-eating stuff - my horse had a tick lodged between his butt cheeks, and even though my horse is pretty cool about stuff, I wasn't about to try to pull the tick off. So, every day for like four days, I had to powder his tush with this anti-tick powder until the bug dried out and fell off on its own.
So, yeah, I powdered my horse's butt.

As kids, me and my younger sis once ate raw bacon. (yes, I gag everytime I think of that, too)
As an adult? I studied Veterinary Science, and yes, many things were 'Done with animals' that are not PG-13.
Personally, most of this was a huge downer for me. Manipulating and 'Breeding' practices when controlled by people take any semblance of 'Natural/Correct' out of the equation.

I ate a dead mouse that my snake refused to eat.

I'm getting sick of telling people about this but it's honestly the stupidest thing I've ever done. I could have ingested a parasite or bacteria and died.

I ate a dog biscuit once. Really kind of bland, but it was the kind of crunchy I can see why a dog would like it.

Anthrasmagoria- I think that's because it's carob, and when you expect chocolate it's... not that great. It's okay if you know, but I'm still not really a fan.

Oh boy. xD
As a child, I was OBSESSED with animals.
So much so that every morning, around 4:30, I would go to the basement and practice my on all fours "running" skills.
I got pretty good at it. And, one day, it actually turned out to be handy.
I middle school, we all went on a field trip where there was obstacle courses and zip-lining.
One of the obstacles was a tire super close to ground. The objective was to jump through this tire without touching the sides.
Since I had practiced jumping on all fours, it was a piece of cake for me.
Nobody else in the entire school was able to make it. But I did.
People started asking me if I was a gymnast or something. But I wasn't.
I just liked being a cheetah. xD

I managed a horse farm for a few years. They bred show horses, all using artificial insemination. The semen straws arrived by FedEx in these big, futuristic looking capsules. One time the Fed Ex guy asked me what we kept getting and I told him "semen."

I think it is amazing what they can do, though - they would flush an embryo from a mare and implant it in a surrogate mare, so that the original mare could keep showing while another mare carried and raised her foal.

I went to a lecture by a guy at Ohio State University's vet school who did work with endangered species - they were using giraffe's to surrogate Okapi in order to try to repopulate the species. They do some really cool stuff, I am totally on board with reproductive manipulation to help endangered species.

Just not to make more genetic disaster-breeds.

Well, the science behind it is fascinating, yes.
I take exception to 'Hand Breeding/A.I. Exclusive' breeding programs, however. I totally understand the possible dangers of it, and so many champion animals (horse, cattle, dog, etc..) cost so much $$$, risk of injury is legit.
I support (until the population is stabilized) extreme efforts for animals on the brink of extinction, yet have to add the cause for that species endangerment must also be realized and remedied. It does no good to breed more animals if there is no place in nature for them to exist.

It's just so damned impersonal, and I truly feel denying animals their natural covering (experience(s)), added to all the other artificial human living conditions is going to lead to some very serious problems physically and psychologically as the generations continue.

I still play chicken with friends when bored. Sorry not sorry :V
