That sort of felt like an Alcoholics Anonymous introduction.
Anyway, I'm pretty new to the fandom. Of course, I've loved anthropomorphic animals since I was a kid, like almost EVERYONE else. Really, with the popularity of Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny, who doesn't? Zootopia is pretty popular, isn't it?
But, maybe furry fandom takes that a step further? I dunno.
I have no inclination to create or wear a fursuit. They are too expensive, anyway.
But, ....
  • MikeyCat, my fursona, has been my personal avatar since the early 1990's.
  • I've used feline mannerisms & expressions since FOREVER.
  • I prefer the company of cats over people.
Does it make me strange? Maybe.
But, that is probably the most normal stuff people notice.

I make music & art, and keep to myself a lot.
Say "Hi" and I'll respond.

My name is Simo, and I'm a furry. And, a skunk! And I feel no need to recover :p

Well, nice to meet ya; am also from Michigan, but live in Maryland now. Born in Detroit, but moved way up north at age one, near Traverse City. So given your signature and Detroit's musical heritage, what sorts of music are you into? Have collected records for ages, and certainly had a punk rock phase, as a teen, and well, the attitude is still there, in many ways.

Nice to see ya, and hope ya have fun here.

Hi Simo,
I never had a phase in anything.
I just keep adding more stuff into the pile.
I'm into a bit of everything; pop, rock, bluegrass, blues, electronica, hardcore punk, death metal, experimental, free jazz, classical, whatever.
I gravitate to the more unusual stuff a lot, though.

Ah, yeah my tastes are similarly all over the place! I guess by 'phase' I would say a period in life I listened to a lot more punk/hc than I do now! That would have been college, East Lansing, bands like The Crucifucks, and such.

But I am assured that you have good taste, as I looked at your list, and it included both Hazil Adkins, and Rootboy Slim :p

Edit: Geez, and the list even includes The Space Lady! I'm not sure I ever met anyone else who knows about her, except my friend, who first mailed me her cassette, from SF.

I think I’m gonna like you.

Your location reminds me of my favorite movie so you’re officially cool in my book.

So what’s your opinion on jam bands?
Depends.
There's good bands. There's shitty bands.
90% of everything is crap.
But 10% of everything is worth searching for.

I bet you like Meatloaf, Bowie, and 10CC!
