See what I did there? Sorry about that, I had to. Anyway, thanks for dropping by! This is my first post on the forum so I'm admittedly a little nervous and will probably end up rambling on for longer than is necessary. Hopefully you'll
bear with me and end up giving me some good advice. ^^
I'm fairly new to the community and actually just gifted my fiance
her very first sona for Christmas as a surprise as well! So we're both still finding our place in the fandom for sure. I made my first sona maybe 2 years ago or so and liked him well enough at the start, but he never felt right and as a result I kinda just dropped him.
I'm hoping to change that this time around and create a character that I
really feel a strong connection with! I want the little duder to be me all over! Problem is, I'm
horribly indecisive and analysis paralysis can get a hold of me pretty easily. I'll likely never finish deciding on my sona if left to my own devices, that's where y'all come in! I've seen plenty of posts talking about how happy older members are to help newbies like me figure out the right fit for our sonas and figured I'd give it a shot too and see if it helps at all!
I'll make a little bullet point list of my major characteristics and interests and let y'all take it from there. If any additional info would help, feel free to ask or message me!
Personality:
- ADHD to my core, I've been diagnosed 3 times now and sometimes I wonder just how much of me is me and how much is just symptoms but I definitely show it
- Easily distracted/forgetful
- Short attention span/always fidgeting
- New fixation/interest biweekly, eat sleep and breath it till the next thing comes around and I inevitably drop the old one cold turkey
- Gradually becoming more introverted as I get older, very outgoing and optimistic but I no longer thrive in groups and once my "social battery" runs out, I need to recharge on my own doing something I enjoy
- Always been the "class clown" in my school days and now as an adult, I'm nearly always cracking a witty joke or talking about some stupid meme with my buddies
- I'm great at giving advice but not taking my own
- Random bursts of energy through the day ideally followed by a cat nap or two in between or else the dreaded midday consciousness battle takes place and it's a miracle I don't fall out at work
- Usually more active at night, preferring to wake up around lunch time and staying up till an hour or two before sunrise
- Typically very chill under pressure or stress but I can kinda blow up for a little while once I finally hit my limit
- Impromptu plans for days, I hate organizers and scheduling, I wing everything I've ever done
- A bit of an organized chaos type, it looks a mess but I have a detailed map of where everything is, provided I didn't forget it again lol
- Quite possibly too friendly online
- Have trouble saying no or standing up for myself, bit of a people pleaser
Hobbies/Interests:
- The outdoors and wildlife, I'm actually nearly done with my Natural Resource Management degree and I'm hoping to get involved with wildlife conservation or forestry
- Gardening, particularly native flowers and houseplants but veggies have their place
- Reading, big on sci-fi and fantasy
- Gaming, duh
- All sorts of I guess "micro-hobbies?" Stuff I hyperfixated on and still enjoy but don't constantly talk about day to day like Gunpla, bird watching, digital art, etc.
- Hiking
- Card games!!
- Star Wars, Pokemon, RPGs, etc
- Frogs, raccoons, opossums, cats, and dogs specifically bring me a special kind of joy
- cottagecore/goblincore/cabincore/yougettheidea-core
- Lioden/Wolvden, Flight Rising
And that should be
plenty for now, apologies if this was a bit much honestly. If you made it this far, hey thanks for sticking with me! Any and all opinions are v much appreciated and I can't wait to see what ya'll think up!
P.S. A few species I had been looking at were: Domestic cat/dog, coyote, raccoon, bobcat, weasel/ferret/otter (I have a
big preference for animals that are either domesticated or native to South Carolina (my home state) since I'm a big nature buff and it'd be nice to be represented by an animal I feel more familiar with than not, something to consider!)
