like when i try ands identfiy my pass word it says that my nick isnt registered

even though i did register it
via email

I think for some IRC servers, NickServ sends you a confirmation e-mail with a code that needs to be sent to NickServ before your account will be activated. Also note that your account is only created on the server you connect to - If you register a nick on one server, it won't be registered on another.
