Hi! I'm Looking for some Critique

Hi! Like the title says, I'm looking for a good-old critique.

I can't help but feel my paintings are lack-lustre and somewhat poorly rendered in ways I cannot see.
Is my style awkward? Does my rendering look like it was done in MS paint? Are my proportions way off?

I need some help and opinions. I highly encourage brutality in your critique.

First off, I think your painting style is lovely! Especially in the picture of the skulls. It's got a pleasing soft quality and the colours work well. Nothing obviously wrong with proportions either.

The thing that leaps out at me at the moment is shadow depth and highlights. I can see them there, but it looks like they're only slightly darker or lighter versions than the base colour. There's not much going on in the way of occlusion shadows either (where the shadow is caused by objects covering other objects, including facial feature definition). Really work into them - set up a palette with at least two (preferably three) colours for each, ranging from deep and dark, to very bright. You may not need to use all of them much, if at all and obviously the hardness will vary according to your light source (e.g. harder shadows for the third picture and softer ones for the fourth). You're already mixing in colours from the surrounding environment and that's great. :)

Seeing all of the selected pictures here, it seems you like the fuzzy, fluffy look a lot. Consider trying a sharper, more focused approach. You're needing to push your anatomy study a little harder too.
See this skull, as an example. Skeletons are angular in nature so that they may better adhere to muscles via ligaments and tendons. As a result, they tend to cast harsher shadows. In oder to get the essence of a skull worked into your art, you might need to consider sharpening it up a bit. Details make the difference. Feathered looks tend to make it more rounded and face-like, which tends to a very feminine look regardless of subject.

Anatomy-wise, the cranium of the skull appears to have more weight in this photograph-- your forehead drawn there is quite shallow. The optic sockets are also extremely rounded. Doing that, you miss out on a lot of the inherent character the zygomatic and maxillary bones impart. Look how the zygomatic (the loop of bone going from the base of the nostril to the ear holes) really plunges into the maxilla (the upper jaw bone, on the front of the skull) and allow a narrowed bite space. Looking for elements of flow in your anatomy studies will help you greatly.
