How do you explain fetishes?

Kittiara

We have fetishes because at some point something was impressed upon us.

Also we're fucked in the head.

Thinking of something arousing takes a lot of time and you are forced to touch your genitalia to make it go "UP". A man with a fetish will make his penis go "UP" as soon he touch and feel the object (fursuit) or by watching the porn video/image without touching the penis.

It will be very challenging for you to prove those psychologists that you really have this fetish.

They will repeat the test more then twice with your eyes open and keep asking of what are your thinkings.

ok...if I really wanted to though, I could easily and what not though but I don't think I'd like someone to be rubbing up on my stuff lol

I think that works for some fetishes... but others... well...

unless something REALLY fucked up happened to the person, I don't think it was caused by anything in particular.

"Fucked in the head" seems like a more applicable explanation. =/

Works for me. Here, put on this latex bikini and whistle "Bridge Over the River Kwai."

I personally think it's because it's not run of the mill sort of things.

So it's exciting for a person. Maybe I am just sick in my head.

is not impressed...
Do we NEED to explain them!?

"Oh yes, see, the idea of me eating you alive turns me on!"

That will go down QUITE SWELL!!!

And "fetish" is being misused on here anyway. A fetish isn't merely something too kinky for you, it's something the person needs for arousal. If you've got a feather fetish you're not going to get hard unless feathers are involved.

As it's being used on here it really means kink--some sort of oddball sex you enjoy but you don't need the kink to enjoy sex.

And here you contradict yourself, first you are saying you can't get hard without the "fetish" which as you say is basically a kink, but then you go onto say you can enjoy sex without the kink, which means you have to "get hard" to enjoy sex even without a kink.

So yes, you can "get hard" without a fetish.

Where's the contradiction? They said a fetish is were they need feathers present to get hard; were as a kink doesn't need them to be present to enjoy sex.

I don't see where they said the bold.

Here, I just got the impression he was saying a fetish is basically a kink.

My appoligies if I got the wrong end of the stick here.

Basically he's saying...

Fetish, as it is being used here, really means kink. Kink is the word people are looking for, they are just using fetish as a substitute because they think it is the same.

Huh? I'm saying the dividing line between kink and fetish is whether you *NEED* the thing to perform. Someone who simply has a kink (most everything referred to in this thread) enjoys whatever the action is but can enjoy sex without it, also. Someone with a fetish can't.

Yeah, I misunderstood your post. sorry. :(

I guess you could compare them to the options you can get on a new car. The addition of stuff you'd want like MP3 connectivity, a moonroof, the 18 inch alloy wheels and the built in GPS makes the car much more appealing to you. It's still a car, but those additions make it attractive to you.
The same thing with fetishes. They add something ultimately appealing to the humanity within you, something that you like or want.
I hope that all makes sense. :\

That would depend on who you are explaining them to.

The Police would get a different story than my girlfriend.

Someone who's kinky enjoys things sexually that other people don't. That's really a vague definition... some people would say that anything other than the missionary position is kinky. A fetish is something you need... someone with a foot fetish can't get off without naked feet being involved.

As to where a fetish comes from... good question. I know plenty of kinky people but I can't think of any with a fetish, so I really don't have any experience to say. But I will say that despite some people's claims, being kinky and into BDSM does NOT mean you were abused or punished a lot as a child. I've seen far too many counter examples to buy that.

...I like your old avatar, I think it suited you better :p
Anyhow I guess this makes sense but I just don't understand how the brain just fucks up like that and people end up finding odd things arousing and sexual :\

It's one of these terms that lacks a solid definition.

Kinky: Something I could possibly try.

Perverted: Something there's no way I would try.

Promiscuous: Someone with more sex partners than me.
