How do you guys find new artists?

I generally don't use the browse option on FA and thus don't find many new artists on it. Every couple months or so, I wonder why that is and go to try again only to get blasted with 90% adoptables, YCH, Commisions, and reminders.

How do you guys find actual artists releasing art on this site nowadays?

Works similar to E6, except less reliably

Found my first artist to commission while browsing the Art Sales forum here.

I often use the Browse function, but I set mine to SFW only. Every few pages or so there's generally one piece I like, sometimes I end up finding an artist to follow from that.

I also like to look at the artists I follow to see what they end up favoriting. Often times they favorite art that is similar to their own style or better, but sometimes completely different yet still something I enjoy. I've actually found the most artists to follow in this way, ended up commissioning some of them.

A lot of artists that used to post very frequently on FA tend to park on Twitter with a Patreon or Subscribestar on the side, and with that becoming a growing trend, you'll see new artists exist solely on twitter and boards.

If you're talking actual artists as in artists who are producing unique content and not being well...focused on being a fan of existing franchises and making art of their characters and whatnot...search and search and search. Prepare your patience and you will find what will seem to be needles in haystacks.

Blogspot had a lot of artists who were putting out more original work but that's probably an outdated and oldschool suggestion.

Another vote here for trawling through other peoples' favorites. I've found a lot of neat artists that way that I probably wouldn't have seen otherwise.

Yeah, faves are the best method. If one artist has art that I like, there's a high chance that their faves will be something I like as well. And then, these artists may have favorited others that I like, and this just goes on without end! So for me there's absolutely no shortage of quality art to be found this way.

Honestly all of my favorite artists are on Instagram, because a lot of them are turned off by the community on FA. A lot of them of them have (or had, mostly) FA accounts but I always find myself needing to branch to other sites to find new (good) material

Edit: instagram is also pretty good at getting an idea of what kinds of artists you follow, so in turn it's pretty good at recommending artists you'll like

When I post a new pic (just FA, I don't bother with mainstream social media), I'll occasionally get a fave or comment from someone whose name I don't recognize (like most posters with a modest following, there is a core cadre of watchers that reliably appear in your Inbox with most uploads, so you tend to know who the regulars are). When that happens I peek at the user's page to see if they're also an artist, and also at their favorites, as I'm curious as to what pieces said user faved before and after mine, especially if they're not currently watching my gallery. Sometimes I can figure out how they ran across the pic and what made them like it, other times it's a complete mystery :D

I also do this with my 'core cadre' and find interesting artists that way as well, but in both cases I more often find myself adding some faves rather than watches, as I try to keep my watchlist to a size where I can keep up with the Inbox traffic it generates, so it's a slow-grower.

I like working with friends, or nice people. I find a lot on DA tbh, because a lot of porn artists out there want to charge you out the wazoo and I ain't doing that. But, I like to work with people I trust.

I usually stumble upon random artists and may follow them by their style. They can be found we I do browse the web or other mediums (literature, concept art, Art Hist somewhat).
Artists' styles I like is J.C Leyendecker, Mignola, Shinkawa, Junji Ito (wish I read at least a book by him), and Van Gogh .

A number of ways.
I find a surprisingly large amount of artists from the ads on FA.
I checkout people with interesting looking avatars.
I see people's art on other websites like twitter, DA and pixiv. Sometimes they have a FA link.
