then i went on google and looked up furry.

I've been semi-active in the fandom since 2007 or so, but I've known about it since 2002. I used to draw and RP as an animal all of the time, but I never considered myself an actual "furry" until quite recently.

I discovered the fandom through a combination of roleplayers on neopets (back when it wasn't craptastic) who introduced me to anthropomorphism, and stumbling across furry art on Deviantart. Then I discovered Goldenwolfen, and I was absolutely enthralled with her work. I started visiting furry chat rooms on dAmn, made tons of furry friends, and realized that I was really drawn to this.

Eventually I just got sucked in completely. :F

1. I've been here for about... A month? Maybe 2?

2. First read that xkcd comic on furries, and had no idea what they were, so I looked them up. The original appeal was in fur suiting, because I am a huge convention fanatic. I pmed a furry on YouTube, and he pointed me here.

... I will hate that guy forever.

Long time. Years. I don't know when it started, I just wanted lycanthropy at some point... or at least a furry tail. Dunno why I liked the tail idea, but hanging something there just wouldn't cut it... it'd have to be real...

But just this year is when I found out what a furry was... prior to that I only knew about the CSI episode... [thank you, google, for allowing me to find out what it really is...]

Wasn't so much like "OMG there are others like me?" as "figures."
