If you were getting NSFW art...

Harbinger

The Last of Us.
...and the owner of the fursona you were fictitiously going to bang was of the opposite gender to their sona would it bother you?
Just wondering, had this happen to me recently and just didnt expect it, i know obviously it means diddly squat irl, i guess not spotting that just made me realize the possibility of finding out the cute girl you're speaking to is in fact a 30 year old black dude.

Bisexuality means no, probably not. But then I don't really care who the owner is when I'm commissioning NSFW art. At that point only the character matters rly.

Alexxx-Returns

The Sergal that Didn't Vore
Not at all, 'cause a lot of people have opposite-gendered side 'sonas, right?

Gator

Uncledaddy
if my interest is in their 'sona and not them as a person, then why would i care? i used to see people talk about that with rp and stuff, too. like... it's pretend. the idea that someone is not interested in doing pretend things with their characters because of the owner's gender implies that those people can't separate the fantasy from the reality and imo that's kinda creepy. i don't wanna date you. i just want a picture of your werewolf shagging my alligator.

I can't really say that I would commission something like that with someone I didn't know, but if I did, it probably wouldn't bother me unless they tried coming on to me just because our two characters were featured together.

TrishaCat

The Cat in the FAF
Too meta for me.
As far as I'm concerned the character and irl person count as separate entities, even if the character is a representation of the owner.

Like how a man can pretend to be a girl while playing any online game because the female race is often viewed as "Vulnerable and must be tended to at all time if they have the personality to go with it" for easy advantages, it can happen anywhere. Always assume everyone as a dude but with the wifi being available in the kitchen now, assume 20% chance it's an actual girl.

And no, it's just a drawing. They're not the same thing. What sucks more though is to have someone randomly pm you saying he's gay now because he imagined himself banging your Sona because he thought the he was a she.

It might bother me if I was strictly trying to prove to myself and the world that I am the straightest thing ever, but I'm not so... Nope.

More Metal Than You !!!
Ummm...I only get NSFW art with people i'm actually romantically involved with...so as a straight guy it would

Butters Shikkon

Patron Saint of Queers
It would make me sick to my stomach to find out a female fursona is a man IRL.

I don't get why this is a feeling people get. Would ya feel the same bout a gal with a male fursona? There's several of those.

:p Fursonas aren't real.

Chellehound

I'm all 'bout that basset
In any environment where one's identity is represented by an avatar, it's best to assume that the cutesiest women are old men and the most uke boys are teenaged girls. :v

Edit:

Also, I'd be flattered.

RedSavage

Rattlesnake Flavored
I'm sorry but---this was hilarious. Sorry to hear it bugged you.

Idk I try to make my 'sona match me in real life the best I can. With the exception of having an extra cup size or two, mine is a pretty accurate representation of myself. Tall, kinda square, and trans. Any time my character looks particularly "girly" or out thin and curvy in proportion is when the artist decides to take "liberties" with my character. Hell, I can only think of two artists that have ever drawn my character properly proportioned. The ref artist Rinzy and Buibuiboota.

I feel like you're calling me out, and callout threads aren't allowed. Besides, if you want to fuck me, I'm not a drawing. I'm a real person. And yes, I have a tail. And yes, my tail is cute and hot. I have a hot tail.

EDIT: I'm getting murry purry with harbinger, and RedSavage is a jerk :V

I wouldn't really care since it's just a character. I'm not concerned about the real person behind it in these sorts of situations. XD There are plenty of hawt female characters I see that I know or suspect to be dudes (and vice versa of course, but they're a bit rarer I find), but it doesn't stop my fap session and doesn't put me off doing a commission with them if they wanted.

At least this is the attitude I'll take when it's actually fine for me to do such things. <.< >.>

If I was getting the art just for the aesthetic "ohh look at the shiny porn" aspect, it wouldn't bother me. If I was getting it for the "ooh the person who this character belongs to makes me wanna wiggly my eyebrows at their butt and call them cupcake" reasons, and I found out later the person represented in the 'sona is vastly different than what I had previously wanted to wiggle my eyebrows at, I'd be sorta bummed.

Hepheph. If I were getting NSFW art it would have Hewge in it.

No. It's a fictional character. The RL details, of their creatorare beside the point.

If anything, it might be a little more awkward to find out she's actually female. Something about asking a girl to draw NSFW art seems a little wrong to me. If she's inspired to do that sort of thing, I wouldn't have a problem with it, but I'd be more likely to ask a RL woman to draw something that's SFW.

Depends if they weren't honest about their sex, you know?

Gender's a curious concept. Identity's fine too. Biology's also a thing.

I'm happy to identify anyone by their chosen gender, but I also appreciate knowing their sex, and it can feel like deception if the two are different and that difference is hidden from you.
