I've been thinking of making a machinima for a while, need help.

I've been wanting to make one for a while, I have a script and that(been watching and reading up on tutorials for a while). My question is what game/program would be good for me to use on my computer to make one, the reason why I ask is my computer only has a 1.6ghz processor and I run linux. So if there's any games/programs linux compatible that don't use alot of processor power, sandbox mode and I can record from it lemme know.

If there's a game/program that doesn't use alot of processor power for windows or mac os, I might be able to use virtualbox or install the os on the unused partition in my harddrive.

If there isn't I'd be able to make it myself from the ground up, but that'd mean I'd have to make the character models and all that and it'd be like a year before I could actually get started.

Oh also it won't be for a while so don't ask for a preview.

I don't think you understand how game engines work. You have a while to go before you start making machinimas

God knows. Probably HL2. The way I see it, there's a massive stock of props and models already out there, as well as it being pretty versatile. If you haven't got it yet, get Steam and try to grab Garrys Mod and a few other Valve games to get it to work.

... If that's the case, you probably won't be able to do much machinima with your current computer; Consider an upgrade or a new PC before you try something like that.

Ok, I only got this computer because I didn't have the money for a better one at the time.
But still what game would be best, cause I could make one using blender but that'd be hard as hell.

If it's having trouble running Garrys Mod, it'll probably struggle with the types of programs you'll need to make models, to be honest. You could go with something likeWorldcraft and the original Halflife to build and script stuff, though you're confined to characters without much flexibility.

No, Worldcraft was the program you used to create maps for things like HL and Quake.

+there is a definite lack of smart people on the Console's, just COD fanboys.(no offense)

I just want to point out that getting the Xbox 360 Slim and Halo: Reach will be cheaper than getting the computer and the games you need.
