I'm liking the picture so far. I like to see what it looks like finished. By the way, what plans do you have for the main character. I want to hear what he is like before I start giving suggestions.
Sounds decent so far. One thing I would have avoided is having your main character just all of a sudden be powerful. The story should show you the training he goes through leading up to the tournament.
