I was raised officialy Catholic, but my mother was influenced by New Age, I studied for a short while at an Evangelical school, my father got involved in a Buddhist sect, and later I joined an Episcopal church. Personally, learning about conflicting religious beliefs have made me lean agnostic.
for me it was just growing up in a religious community. My state is one of the most religious ones in the country so you can't go more than 3 or 4 blocks without seeing a church and considering how I grew up mostly in small towns.
I got exposed to it both directly and indirectly.
So I eventually visited some churches in my teenage years. Trying to understand the point and never really did. I spotted things in said churches that just sorta rubbed me wrong. Be it in the belief systems of the churches I visited or the overall people of said church.
My family though not at all religious so I got to see these groups from a non biased stand point.
I think I only came to be an atheist because at the end of the day even though I find religious beliefs interesting. I find it hard to believe in a God that actually cares for human life especially considering my history.
Because let me tell ya friend... my story is something..
Not only that. But I just never heard a good reason for him to exist in my mind. If he does exist that's cool and I would like to ask a lot of questions but I highly doubt it. I'll be happy to be proven wrong though,
