i completely understand that. stopped watching it in high school cause a friend got hooked, passed me in it, and wouldn't stop spoiling everything

Well, tbh I've never been big on One Piece expect for a few things here and there. So I only jump into it at random for characters like Sabo. But other than that avoid One Piece.

He just talks about it because I allow him to talk to me about it. Even though I'm not a super fan.

He also talks about Star Wars although those chats are entirely one sided since I don't care for Star Wars at all but he has no other Star Wars buddies. So I allow him to go on for hours about topics and other stuff I'm usually not at all interested in.

But I enjoy listening and I enjoy the passion in his voice when he talks about stuff like that so I just sit down and happily listen.
90% of the time not an issue unless we go near an area I hate hearing about.

Like I very heavily dislike hearing about "The fans turned against George Lucas" kind of topics. Because when we go into that area I can't help but think "Star Wars is a passionate fandom but at the same time toxic as Hell."

I believe One Piece has a good story just it takes forever to get anywhere and I don't mind slow build ups. Hell, most of Stephen King's novels don't really go anywhere till you reach around 300, 400, or 500 pages.

But for me One Piece doesn't get good till you get past 200 episodes expect for a few small arcs here and there. Like the arc where Luffy meets Tony Tony Chopper.
