Because it's something I enjoy drawing.
Plus I'm messing about with poses and camera angles so it makes sense to use the characters I'm most familiar with.

She does have a bio on my FA page, but in a nutshell. She's a captain in a space fleet, she get assigned to the worst ship in the fleet, with orders to fix it up. The crew is a mix of incompetents, criminals, and salvageable people who have just lost their spirit. She's in for an interesting time.
This picture nicely shows the situation she finds herself in.
