The last time I cooked a butt, it took all day in the oven to almost get up to temp, and then some more hours in the smoker... So worth it.

I'm trying out a new recipe. I have been cooking this thing for about 3 1/2 hours in a 300 degree oven. Once it gets to 180 F I take it out, rest it for about a half an hour, then put it back in at 475 for about fifteen minutes. This is supposed to make the skin really crunchy. It's just taking its time getting up to temp. It weighs about 5 lbs.

That stuff has a nasty weird fake floral smell. Kinda like I imagine a disposable douche would smell like.

We need a mildly musky version for us skunks and others!!!!!!!

Luckily do not have any allergies except mold/mildew.
