I always thought it was more like insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result only to end up with the same one.

But we all know that there's only one person that will win this, the one that locks the thread. But that'll never happen, so we end up continuing in the same circle of insanity only to reach the same result.

I've been thinking of it as trying to reach the end of a rainbow. It's there, you are so close, then you blink and the thing is suddenly three fields over and you have to change direction again.
