No polls! The last one was rigged! -Stubbornly clings to throne.-
The people spoke, and thus, the Vulpine Empire was given life. I of course, am beholden to the people and must displace tyranny with enlightened tyranny. That's why I think Nelf deserves only the best band aids for his larping expeditions against the Arby's kingdom.

today is veterans day. im a veteran myself, along with so many members of my family, for generations.
Thanks for your service my man, much respect, my grandfather was a Korean and Vietnam War vet. Gave up alot of this service.
I always feel a little off kilter during Veterans day, cause I kind of struggle to know how to properly give respects to the vets as a civvie.

It's a weird day. but thanks to all active, reserve, guard, retirees, veterans for your service.

And thanks to all civvies who make it possible to be of service.

Lost a good chunk of family in the 1st world war, Grandfather got captured by the Germans during the Italy campaign in WW2 and forced marched to a PoW camp in Germany. My great Uncle was probably the luckiest. Flew with Lancaster squadrons until he got shot down over France. Oxygen cannister busted his leg. Once he finally got out of the hospital his truck got hit by a bomb and tossed him into the river, hyperthermia.. More hospital time. Finally moved to coastal command and patrolled our borders for the rest of the war.

You get a healthy respect of the sacrifices and experiences of vets from their stories. It had become a bit of an oral storytelling tradition in the UK.

Ah, didn't know you were with the military, great stuff all around! Appreciate your continued service to the country.

And yeah, I do try to be thank all veterans I can reasonably identify without coming off as too much of like a suck up and such. Like trying not to drag them out of what they are doing for me to awkwardly thank them sort of thing. It's a bit of a weird sort of balance sometimes.

Agreed, people tend to take the trials and tribulations for granted. Some of the youth these days are too impatient to really even listen to what their relatives had to go through, it's unfortunate. I'd go on but I don't think this thread is the place to talk about how countries treat their vets sooo imma just say
