"Pagoda Wheels"

I'm flabbergasted with some translation choices they've made for Monica's Gang. There's this article about "domestication strategies" that focused on a comic I'd read a lot as a kid, and that's basically adapting the foreign text so it becomes more palatable to the reader. It intends to avoid culture clash, but I wonder if that expression makes sense to ye? ;p

Btw, "roda de pagode" is a social gathering with peeps playing instruments and singing samba songs~

I'm sure glad you could explain that last part because I looked up what a Pagoda wheel is and apparently it's this type of rim that only Mercedes makes, so that means it's not exactly common.

Ahh, I see what the translator had in mind then. I mean, their intention makes more sense in terms of that domestication thing, although at first I had imagined something like an Asian building parked somewhere :p.

Sometimes they choose to put a note explaining Brazilian expressions and cultural quirks. Kinda wish it was the case here too
