Practice practice PRACTICE! I can't draw for toffee either. I do paint some nice figures though~
Templates as in how to motivate? I just resolve to paint a figure, plonk in headphones (So Mrs Skittles is not offended by my taste in death metal..) Then boom! Music helps ^^*nods with agreement* any practice templates you can recommend?
I found duplicating other artists work was very helpful.I'll see if I can find some pre-made templates online and practice with them, perhaps that'll help.

As to drawing templates.. I have no idea sadly.

I studied the work of people like Michelle Light, Terri Smith, Laura Howell, just printing out stuff they have done and going over them with pencil to find out where the construction lines would be then I would try to duplicate the picture but at a different size, and not try to make it a perfect duplicate. It's quite a good exercise for building up memory as to how characters are put together.

I ended up buying a bunch of Mechwarrior: Age of Destruction clix packs on ebay. I think I have problems...
I'll be sure to take a listen. It's kind of like a Mech variant of Heroxlix they made back in the 00's.
I never got into back in the day, but figured they're cheap enough I might as well ad a few of them to my growing mech collection.
I have a long day of coffee and listening to Rush.
B-but that's not me at all, dad! Here’s Sol View attachment 76291
