Goodness, the larping's gone to your head. Repeat after me, the coffee cup is not a disintegration potion.

Don't play D&D kids, it's satanic and rots yer brain.

:V!!! Lies and slendermen! No proof there was any link between satanic rituals and DnD! Saying that. I do have a source book specifically on various demons. It even had a warning in the introduction that it isn't for the sensitive folks X)

My 80's News stations wouldn't lie to me, dice are just instruments of devil worship.

I watched the show which featured this article. It's on YouTube. Had to be the most cringey evangelical nonsense I have encountered.

I actually thought people were joking when they were talking about D&D being avenues for devil worship, but I saw a compilation of it, and was pretty surprised to see how serious people took it. The US used to be alot more religious back in the day, and news stations at that time were one of the only ways to spread information on such a wide scale. Sorta like a perfect storm. Stupid as hell, but I guess back then, that didn't matter.

Speaking of Tabeltop games, I've been playing some Pathfinder lately (1st edition). I was never super fond of the RNG, but it's alot of fun to flex your creative muscles.
but the rng is the best part! Like you can do funny stuff if you roll a 1. Like on a perception roll you could blink and forget to open your eyes.

It's a long story as to why I don't like rng, but I think my biggest gripe is character death. It's a special sort of frustrating to lose your character to bad rolls, because usually a good portion of it isn't your fault.
Tactics, character build and strategy are things you can control, but whether you can actually do anything successfully is down to rolling well.

Otherwise, I actually agree, I don't mind the character failing and funny situations like that. Just really shitty to lose a character you developed for half a year to bad rolls. Though to be fair, it helps to have a dm that knows why you play the game.
Hopefully that explains it a bit.

Yeah i can see why you don't like rng then. If you're really paranoid of character death you can always pick up the lucky feat (is that in pathfinder?) or some other feat that let's you reroll bad dice. Halflings get to reroll dice if i remember correctly.

I just play Tabletop for the character development and character interaction, that's all. And not sure, I only just started playing, lol
