And yes I had to fill the cup with water

Given my dysfunctional family, I feel like a lot of stress could have been avoided if people were just willing to keep everyone in the loop.
Even if it is just something 'small' like "I've had a really bad week at work'. Maybe they're harboring bad news and just don't know how to share it.
