So like the government paying for prejudicey?
Sorry, Thanksgiving. Yes, to the extent it was millions of dollars to harass and find and eject LGBT individuals. And no, because they had plenty of prejudicial people willing to do it, because outing a lesbian was a way to coerce her into sex and outing a gay/bissexual guy/gal was a means to promotion. You kissed someone on the cheek, held hands, looked at someone too long- it was enough to be violated, harassed, and/or discharged.
If I slipped up or was caught, it was a force out by administrative or other than honorable discharge. Which is not what the recruiters told you and not something you want to find out at 20 in 1996 because that's life impacting, with dishonorable discharge being almost life ending. It kind of changed in 08 -10, but only so long as the Court of Appeals had its way and there was no telling how that would play out. Even now, the way I talk and interact is very direct and blunt at times, forceful - it's hard not to go to what you know. Down to not being a stereotype and avoiding at all costs as much as possible. So, Minx went online as an escape and I got a couple of gay guys as "boyfriends" in case they needed to prove not LGBTQ by sleeping with a woman. So, there's the minx, because now I'm sleeping with men.
Talking about it is good, important even. but it's about on par with discussing why you were dating an abusive and toxic significant other while trying to figure out how they went from super awesome to Satan and you can't get away because everyone thinks he's Jesus and awesome and you're a crazy so and so while something is wrong with you. Caracal just kind of fit because they take on animals and people outside their weight class, but care for their offspring. Solitary, but can be pseudo-domesticated, and shy. So when I saw the built reference sheet, everything clicked and that is my fursona.
I would like to use the excuse of breaching too close to the political discussion policy as an out on this one. Like I said, Minerva Minx/Aileana is a long and heavy story, and yeah, that's enough on her. Everything else gets too close to home, and I'd rather be that weird intentioned, awkward, quiet, mostly friendly lady.
