OOC:
Do keep in mind that you are not owed anything on the mere basis of being an artist. Art will be judged on its merits, and so will the artist. What skills and/or talent(s) the artist have is not important to the average person, as having skills and talents is normal in any merit-based society. No one is special in that regard.
Good art is good art, mediocre art is mediocre art, bad art is bad art. Being either of these 3 or a mix is not really important either as artists come in all forms as well as skills and talents. Got plenty of mediocre-at-best artists who love drawing despite their limits/abilities/talents. Said artists will also get their own audience and potential customers/commissioners.
Believing you deserve something from others is not a good approach as it pretty much comes from an egotistical perspective/angle. Recognition by whomever is interested will come in time and on its own and is not something one can force.
Question becomes, why do you draw? Do you draw because you like drawing? Because it's a passion? Wanting to draw everything you possibly can in general or draw a specific topic? Do you draw because you want recognition and be seen by others?
Depending on how one answer these questions and more of them it will shape not only one's audience but also the approach to the topic in general.
