I recommend it and its sequal NieR: Automata (which actually sold well) and the main games called the Drakengard series as Nier is a spinoff.

I don't have a PS4, but it looks like it SHOULD run on my windows pc. Also, I love Square Enix. :3
Do I need to play the other games to understand it?

When I picked up my hobby of cars and photography, I stopped playing a lot of video games. Most of the games I play now are either on the DS/3DS(portable), my phone, or quick games with amazing stories(Night In The Woods).

These are quick games with amazing stories and multiple endings that you get by replaying the game more.

The first Nier takes 38ish hours to get all the endings and NieR: Automata 40 hours for all the MAIN endings.

Also ending D in Nier deletes all your data and so does NieR: Automata's ending E but they're worth it.
