Why would I ever be mad at that?@Skychickens, would you become terribly mad at me if I used this image to bump my thread and show my recent work while at the same time promoting your shop?

Sweltcult HahahaIdk, You’d have to ask sveltcult about that
Is it really theft if they're crediting you and linking back though?Art theft :V
Everyone getting official Skychickens ™ icons? It seems that I've already missed some weird math symbol trend, what is the next one?![]()
I think you need the permission from the artist. Is it really theft if they're crediting you and linking back though?
Copyright is tricksy I suppose.I think you need the permission from the artist.
I know that you can't do this with videos on Youtube without the permission of the creator, even when you credit him.
I think that's not paranoid. That's necessarythat I register all the songs I create, for instance
Yes, copyright is very difficult. For example, there's a little clause in there that if you fully redraw something (not tracing) and can prove it, you can retain ownership of the piece even if it wasn't originally your own. That's why some art theft claims get really hairy.
It's a good idea to register them though. You can't copyright an idea, but if you have it registered you have an official timestamp saying you created it then.Well while in doubt I figured I'd ask anyways so you'd also be known that I'm using it to promote stuff I'm selling. It's just a thing of mine, I can be so paranoid when it comes to copyright that I register all the songs I create, for instance xP
In my first college since it was a business school we had an ENTIRE CLASS on copyright. O-oYes, copyright is very difficult.
According to copyright, you are correct.I’m not that good at art, but even I get nervous someone will try to steal it, As long as someone gives you credit and asks permission, it’s ok right? Correct me if I’m wrong
Same with the US's copyright laws.By the Berne's Convention and the laws of Brazil copyright is automatically attributed to the artist once their song is created, so registering is optional - but it provides more strength legally speaking as Sky's mentioned.
