he has a thing called a crux which he can secretly place in souls that makes them start off the respawn process.
simply eat all the planets with people on and he wont respawn.

no i just respawn wherever the people are so that's not a problem.

so 1 soul's worth of energy respawns you but wipes out the other soul.
so somehow this guy's got to kill you without physically touching you, which is actually pretty easy.
if there's no other people in existence then you're just dead.

well.. no.
just people who've never physically touched sam.
I know sam's made a huge effort to spread the cruxes real far but if he has to physically touch them then if you think about it to cover the most area in the universe he's probably only touched 1 guy on each planet apart from the one he lives on in the first place.
so if you knew who those guys were you could just take them out.
that would be easier than wrecking whole planets.
