Just because something has been done before, doesn't mean you can't do it.
Pocari Roo and Stormi Folf talk about a lot of similar thing, I always choose Pocari. Odin Wolf and Majira Strawberry do a lot of the same video, I choose Odin Wolf.
A LOT of youtubers do Lets Plays, I will normally choose ProJared.
Your sense of humor, personality, way of filming, and quality are very important. And can make people choose you over others.

Yes! Picking up a following can be a little difficult, but so what. If you like it, and enjoy it, do it.
You have a sense of humor, whether it's dark, dry,pun-y, use it. Don't be discouraged just because there's others out there.
I'm into photography, mostly landscape and sunsets. In the photography world, there's a lot of that. But i enjoy it, and am building my own editing style, and still am getting followers.

Yup. I did a big science fair project on electricity where I was trying to find alternate dumb ways to power things. I managed to turn a teeny lightbulb on with a potato and a bowl of water.@Skychickens Didn't you said in the "Are you interested in science" thread that you where interested in electronics as a kid?

I don't have any of the supplies at all. Dumb science is always fun though. I also exploded film canisters with baking soda and vinegar.
