I was thinking you really can't top the amount of detail in the original Bambi, the warmth of the amazing watercolor backgrounds, that scene where it rains. To hand animate a feature cartoon like that would make it prohibitively expensive today. I'm always blown away at the sheer amount of beauty and detail in the art in that cartoon...not to mention it being my favorite...well...and it has a cute skunk!

Brother Bear is one of the few Disney movies that make me cry. >_<

Now I'm watching The Lion King 2 though, with a lot of feel goodness. :3

Bambi never really touched me...Just made me dislike hunters since a young age.

I'd argue that but you can't really compare a master piece to another. There are other animated films which i have on a pedastool for other reasons but all Art is subjective and lovely in their own right. Unless the art isnt supposed to be.

Romeo & Juliet plus Racism is just amazing to me though.
I think a MAJOR part of my tie to The Lion King 2, is the fact that is deal heavily with figuring out who you are besides your title, being an outside, and has Neve Campbell(my all time favorite actress).

(I think The Lion King 2 is the only Disney sequel I really like...Bambi 2 was cute. But that it?)

I mean I like the story theme too it's just the odd retconning and how the animation isn't quite as good and the pacing is a little odd...still a fun movie though I just have to pretend sometimes it's not "Lion King" you know...
