The No Child Left Behind law really fucked with how education in the US was handled. Now if your classes scores are too low, you don’t get paid. They make everyone go at the same speed so they “don’t feel left out” so god forbid you have a student who needs more time, or one that needs harder.

Of course teachers are only going to focus on tests.

That’s how they get paid.

I had SO MUCH trouble figuring out how I should pay mine. Nobody would teach me a thing before I'd take an online course focused on accountants. There's an understanding of how it works if you receive via Paypal, but not a clear-cut rule. And my music production work is like, an "underground" option to choose as a professional - in the whole north/northeast region of Brazil there's 2 available courses.
