We are always our own worst critic. I'm the same way about the way I work. Its taken me a lot of years to be able to tell people that I am a good massage therapist. I always feel like I could be doing better.

Those are still amazing by my standards!

I am not an artist at all, though I do have a creative streak. I told you about our daughter & she blows me away with how far she's come in just a few years. It frustrates her to no end, but she never gives up & she draws something everyday.

Oh hey, it's Deidara. Nice. Yeah while you definitely have improved, even your earliest drawings aren't that bad. In fact, they're all 10x better than what I can draw.

I'm studying videogame design and development at the university and even if we are mainly learning how to programing and maths, we have some artistic subjects (mainly how to draw, modelate and animate characters) and all I can say is: I don't know how I passed thoose subjects. One day we had to draw hands and mine looked like a seal fin...
When I have to draw I only feel a bit comfortable doing vectorial drawing because it's very mathematic. Today I tried to make a representation of my character using only circles, lines and some bezier curves and I have to say that I'm pretty proud of the result. It's very mediocre and it took me more than an hour to draw something a little kid could draw faster, but coming from me it's far better than I expected and at least I caught the essence.
I FUCKING LOVE DOING VECTOR ART.
I used to do a ton of vector art because I hated how tablets worked. Now that I don't have Illustrator I can't do it.

I used to annoy the hell out of people when I told them I did all my work with a mouse. They'd get mad at me for how long it took and such and I was like "IT'S VECTOR ART DONE WITH A MOUSE GIVE ME A BREAK"

For example, after three years of practicing:

I really want to get doing something like this style again, but I haven't managed with my tablet yet. Tablets are hard!

I dunno. I still don't think it's a talent, those are some of my biggest embarrassments.
Still looks better than mine! XD
I mean, I started pretty late drawing. Studied a lot. But they're awful awful awful!

Yeah...I used to draw a LOT of Naruto fanart. Some was okay. I talked with a ton of artists and constantly worked on it.

I used to do a lot of tracing over images I printed out to try and understand. It's a habit I still kinda do...on my more semireal I tend to get a reference and draw shapes on it to build my guides from.

These look amazing. I made a very minimalistic drawing (basicaly a stickman with the main features of my character) and it took me almost 2 hours, if I had to draw something like yours I would need 5 years... for a single character. I would love to learn how to draw, but I have the big problem that most people have, the lack of time. But after I finish studying I will probably try to find a good place to take drawing classes.

Pogo

I pounce i bounce.
Been doodling a lot lately. Nothing i make ever takes more that 20 or 30 minutes to finish.

Some of the artists i know have patients and coordination i would love to achieve someday but for now, content with makin' doodles and stories.
