Hello, Proto
Would it be bad to make Arnak a dragon like being?
Technically, though.
Sorcerers are known to get their powers from a magical bloodline, which can include dragons.
Some even go on to become Dragon Disciples who, after enough training, start growing scales, claws, and a tail, while still keeping their other racial traits.

Here's my idea:

Arnak was originally human but had an insatiable hunger for arcane knowledge. Being human meant he'd eventually die before even scratching the surface of magic. So he made a pact with the ancient God's, begging for a solution. The solution was to give him the form of dragon kin, granting him the lifespan of a dragon. The only downside is he lives in a world so deep in the belief that dragons are evil that they'd kill him, luckily he already lives far from civilization due to his question for knowledge crosses into necromancy at times.

Sounds more like a wizard turned sorcerer, then.
Sorcerers don't really need to learn magic. They develop their powers naturally through getting stronger.
Wizards, on the other hand, have to study magic practice and theory to become powerful.

Either way, it sounds more like a sorcerer since the magic comes from turning into dragon kin.
No need for spellbooks any more tbh.

Also, why not combine wolf and dragon?
It's a bit less common than straight dragons, anyways.

I'll give it a shot in here. Though I may end up in OP territory.
