Maybe I've become more observant in my age but I've noticed that a lot of "professionally" written articles have a lot of spelling mistakes, grammatical errors etc these days. People seem to be getting incredibly lazy.

That's usually a mark of cutting costs. Most writers, no matter how good, are going through editing, because they usually write on a deadline.

But yeah, that suggests the article quality might drop if that keeps repeating. And if so, probably the quality of articles as well.
