@Skittles Nice job. I used to paint lots of miniatures. I was used to the metal ones though. I would use a black half enamel/half solvent dip to prime them. When I painted them, I would use layers of matt or gloss fixitive to "set" the colors so if I dropped one, the paint wouldn't chip off. Go to a ceramics store and you can find some really great paints a lot cheaper than model paints. Also, there is some stuff they used to make called diamond dust that looks just like frost. They also had some stuff that I used for regular dust, but I don't recall the name of it.
The paints you get at ceramic shops are acrylics, which is why I used the fixitive on them. The base was just a mix of half black enamel and half thinner. I would dip the metal figs in the mixture and then shake them off so it didn't pool or drip. This took off all of the skin oils and made the paint stick better. It also made a great base for dry brushing chain mail. I also remember that they have metallic "rubs" at ceramic shops as well. You will go crazy with those once you get them. They have different metals from metallic gold to silver to pewter to bronze. It has been many, many years since I did any painting though.Nice! I will keep an eye out! I paint all sorts when the mood takes me. White metal/lead and plastic. Using a black basing spray and acrylics. But they do cost a fair penny D:

Nice job on the Orc
I haven’t painted anything in over a year (Looks at the ton of unpainted models) Better get a move on.

Yes, he seems like one of the genuinely ‘Good’ people in 40k. I’m in the same boat, I’d like to play more but the nearest club is 25 miles away, it’s a bit of a hike.I am guessing Gabe Angelos X3, I used to play Space Wolves but I never find time to play anymore :/
