You're wrong.
It's a terrible pokemon. It's only saving grace is pickup and even then it loses effectiveness pretty early. But not everyone can be fan favorites.
I wasn't fond of it myself. Not for any of the regular reasons either. It was just the first time a pokemon game disappointed me especially in the E4.
But I have a full and complete living pokedex so there's that.
