  • Not big on Dune. A good movie is a good movie and that's all I care about.

So Legendary Entertainment has the film and television rights to Dune now.

Adaptation of the first Dune book #3, 2nd adaptations 2nd and 3rd books, and first times beyond those here we go. Assuming they get that far. I've read the book, watched the David Lynch movie, and saw the miniseries. This will be my fourth time experiencing that part of the story. I just want an adaptation of the 4th book already. It's my 2nd favorite in the series with the 5th being my favorite.

I've always been a fan of Dune. I would like to see the later years with Bashar Miles Teg and the return of Omnious.

Hmmm, its a wait and see but I think a tv series would be best, that way each season is a book and more can be done. A movie chops everything to hell and adds new pointless filler. A mini series is good but can't go on for long. Yeah, tv series is our best bet at seeing dune to the last book.

Can't really say much on the subject, as the most experience I have with Dune is the Dune games Dune 2000 and Emperor: Battle for Dune. Goodass fucking games though.

Dad's a Dune fan though. Pretty sure he'd be thrilled.

I've been looking into playing them eventually.

I recommend getting into trying out the books when you get in the mood. Just keep in mind that the first book can starts out slow. The books afterward don't have that problem.

Very good games, especially Dune 2000. Old, but holy shit is it a good game.

Miles Teg is the best character in Heretics of Dune.
And his future clone. Love the way Frank wrote those books. I devoured them as soon as I found out there were others. Now I own all of them except the most recent ones. Mattet of fact I think its time for another reading, starting with Serena Butler and her Jihad.

I haven't read that prequel trilogy with the younger Duke Leto, but I own them. I'll get to them before the next Dune book comes out. There's also that trilogy that's a sequel to Legends of Dune. I haven't read that either. My mind's mostly been on Star Wars books, but I haven't had that much time for that lately. I've only read 4 young adult novels(which are really short) and 2 adult novels, all of which are Star Wars, this entire semester.

At least Winter break is in a few weeks. I'll read at least a couple of books then.

Forgot to reply on the bottom part..

Can't be assed reading books generally.

Unless it's books from for instance George Orwell or Richard Dawkins, then I'd be interested. :p

The Syfy TV adaptations: Frank Herbert's Dune and Children of Dune (adapts 2nd and 3rd book) are what I'd recommend then. The adaptation of the first book is decent, but the next show they did is really good.
