Looking to hire an artist for illustration work in my next novel. $500 set aside.

Once again, I am looking for an artist. I would like to commission a full color, two character illustration for my next book cover; a detailed background is an option. I'm also considering having some black and white illustrations made as well.

Edit: My tastes tend to lean toward realistic or semi-realistic works.

The color work will involve a human and a furry; a rodent-like person (I have some specific characteristics in mind). I especially seek an artist who can clearly convey the emotional state of the human and, hopefully, work similar magic on the other. I have the funds in hand; I have set aside $500, just for the color piece.

To date, I have hired from various sites, Khyaber, thegryph(Nicole Cardiff), and Mostly Teeth. I have been very satisfied with their work but I know that there are a good number of other quality artists out there. I'm pretty easy-going regarding letting the artist run with the idea, provided that certain criteria is met. Here are some examples of artwork that I have commissioned in the past:

Hey!! I don't usually open commissions for my full style but I'm interested to learn more about your project. I have some examples here: sta.sh: Illustration Portfolio , and my style is very flexible so I should be able to work something out for almost any theme you need me to portray.
I would be happy to work with you to figure out what you'd prefer between a more illustrative, traditional book cover -type style, or something more modern or experimental. $500 is more than I would typically ask for a single illustrative piece, but a more accurate quote depends on the licensing you require and any commercial use necessary. I'd also be happy to work with you to figure out an appropriate turnaround and if necessary, can work on this full-time.
