Losing Interest

Nymphs

Ugly Idiot
I've kind of dropped being a "furry" mainly due to the fact I wasn't really too much of being one in the first place. I honestly joined out of peer pressure mainly from my boyfriend and other furries over the internet I've known for quite some time.

The main reason I started this thread is just to ask if you've ever really just stopped caring about the furry fandom, you being a furry, or just plainly "dropping" being a furry in general.

I admit I do have lapses in interest from time to time, but that applies to anything; art, piano, etc. So I don't really worry about it.

Are you thinking of leaving?

The forum? Not really. I just stay here to talk. Although a lot of threads and posts make my faith in humanity dwindle even more than it has. Even though it doesn't really mean anything, mainly because my faith in humanity is estimated to 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001.

Let me put it this way. Furries=Humans
Humans=Humanity
I have low faith in Humanity because most people are idiots.
Humanity is mostly composed of idiots.
Which means Humans are mostly composed of idiots.
Which means that Furries are mostly composed of idiots.
Therefor, Furries make me lose my faith in Humanity. Explanation finished.

But so would anyone else who isn't a furry, too. Tiring of the furryfandom over that won't gain you anything, because you're still going to encounter it everywhere else.

That's not really the point. The point is that I was never really too interested in being a furry in the first place. The point I just made is my secondary reason.

Don't believe the mask...
To answer your original question; no, not really -- but I didn't let my friends pick my hobbies for me, either.

Of course there are lapses where I am really busy and don't have time for forums or art, but I feel like anthropomorphic animals are something I've always liked and probably always will, because that's my personal interest. Just like I'll probably never get tired of reading, though I might have spans where I don't have time to pick up a book. If you don't like it, just find something you do like. :)

Also, your explanation of why furries make you lose faith in humanity doesn't make sense. The question is, what specifically about furries makes you lose faith in humanity -- if the answer is just that 'they're humans', then it's not furries making you lose faith in humanity. It's just humanity itself doing that.

You didn't get the point. Furries are a part of humanity, yes. Therefor, furries are making me lose my faith in humanity because they are a part of it. And that whole thing about my faith in humanity is about me staying on the forum, it has no relation to me not being a furry anymore. You're really missing the point in what I'm saying.

You cannot imagine the immensity of the fuck I do not give.

If you wish to see things stupider, please consult browsing "The Den" section furtherly. I guarantee you will find something at least three times as dumb and meaningless. Thanks for dropping by though!
Bye bye Asshole.

Don't go because some fourteen year old boy decided to be an asshole :( I do think this is a valid thread - sadly, the problem with FAF specifically is that most people can actually be pretty silly, even (and especially) the sane ones. (People tend to snap a lot at each other - I don't know why.)

As for me, I've never been very interested in furry creatures (although I do like drawing, and animals are easier to draw than people since you don't recognize their faces as much), but I suppose I would consider myself part of the community, simply because I chose to hang around people here.

I think that's what most of the people on FAF do, actually. So I understand your situation perfectly - I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Heck, I don't even understand what gets people into furries too much, outside of an artistic level.

It doesn't matter if I lose interest.
I always come back.
I'm still not sure whether that's a good thing or not.

if you lost faith in humanity, why single out furries? There are plenty of other fandoms that are full of idiots, too. Idiots are kinda inescapable. You're gonna find them wherever you go, regardless if it's on the internet or IRL.

Imo, there are more idiots in the anime fandom than the furry fandom.
I'd know, I'm in it.
Seriously, there are some people out there who just deserve a good strangling.

I only considered myself a furry for the first month or so of being on this forum. Now I'm just a member that likes the community. Losing interest isn't uncommon; happens with any fandom.

Occasionally I lose interest in everything. Sometimes that interest never comes back, sometimes it does.
It doesn't sound like you had any interest in the fandom in the first place, though. It's kinda hard to lose interest in something you were never interested in :/

There are dumb people in ANY subculture, so escaping really will not help.

You do REALIZE you posted this on a PUBLIC forum where ANYONE can post whatever they want? And no, this is one of said "pretty dumb" threads - of course some people lose interest, it's like... liking candy as a child and then growing up and finding out it gives you too many cavities :I

> OP says they are losing interest in the furry fandom

> OP makes offhand and tangential joke about losing faith in humanity due to some posts in this forum

> Everyone jumps on OP as if the two points are connected, even after the OP has clarified multiple times that his/her connection to the fandom has little to do with her faith in humanity

Hey guys, I know you like being sensitive and all, but just because someone says "lol the internet lowered my faith in humanity" that doesn't mean you have to jump on them

Especially after they say something like "Furries only make me lose faith in humanity because they are part of humanity and equally able to disenhope me as any other human being"

S/He's not calling you all freaks guys, chill

Losing interest is a common thing that appeared way before you've heard about the furry fandom.

I gave up on the fandom 2-3 years ago.
So?

Doesn't prevent me from doing anything. My reason for leaving? None. There are only reasons for joining other things, which led me to cut my available time on the forums and with the furry fandom by more than half.

i lose interest in furryhood because i get distracted.

for a long time, i once completely convinced myself i was straight because i had other things to worry about than my sexuality

I pretty much completely forgot about the fandom for a few years before randomly popping into FAF one day. It's not really a big deal? People's interests wax and wane with time, it's natural.
