That comparison isn't completely unfair, but it is mostly inaccurate. You're equating furry art with all of the furry fandom. Furries express their interest in anthropomorphism through many media, such as pictures, literature, and fursuits. Anthropomorphism is a concept, not just a style. Even if you were to reduce it to an artistic style, artists and musicians specialize in certain genres like surrealism or atmospheric rock, which is much more comparable to furry art than a chord. C minor and slam dunks are more akin to foxes or wolves, if you want to use this analogy.
Not at all. Anthropomorphism isn't even a style, it's just a device. It is used in every form of art, that isn't just to say it's rampant, more that it's a teeny little aspect of every bigger whole. Surrealism and atmospheric rock can/do use anthropomorphism in them, and not change the style (just the topic), it really is more like a chord to music or a spice to cooking.
I guess technically it's part of a lifestyle to acknowledge that you're "human-like". It's just not really a lifestyle on it's own.
