There is no inspiration for mine, it just appeared to me. I have always liked foxes, but it wasnt until I found furies i understood why and how much ^_^

I picked my fursona due to how if fits me in IRL. I have a pack of friends, I am loyal to a fault, I have a good sense of smell, can see well in the dark, etc. Before someone else jumps in here though, I do not have the senses of a wolf. No one does. I do have outstanding senses of smell and sight on a HUMAN standard.

in a sense, mine is totally opposite. to put it lightly, it fits my personality: I walk when everybody runs, I lie in the grass, while everyone is playing games, and I see the good in everything, when people only see bad... yea, I'm the laid back, and appreciate everything kinda guy ^_^

My fursona has always been a part of me.

I share characteristics of the fursona (a Lion), much like others have posted...they share traits that their animal side has, that also fits into their lives.

Mine is a spiritual and emotional connection...and I tend to act like it, mostly out of instinct...and I sometimes I don't even know I'm doing it...

Well, I honestly chose the fossa rather randomly, but I've noticed a few similarities between it and me. The fossa is a very acrobatic critter, and while I can't even do a cartwheel, I'm a very resilient and cheerful person. I can also climb trees fairly well, a skill that is important to the everyday life of a fossa. They sleep quite a bit, which also represents how laid-back I am. P:

I think if I were to choose anything else other then a dog for my fursona, I'd pick a Society finch.. or maybe like a Marshmallow Dove or something XD But in feral form, of course!! (Actually my dog character is mostly quadruped, too...)

After reading animal behavior for a while (I do this when I'm bored) I realized I'm very much like a dwarf rabbit, that's where my love for rabbits came from. So what better than to make my fursona a dwarf rabbit? They were my inspiration! :3

I choose a Dragon because I've always had an interest in reptiles and dragons. I also believe I act like a dragon 50 percent of the time. So a dragon fursona just came naturaly.

My inspiration to what I am, is that I must be true to my heart. I could be no other creature than a dragon. My core, my being, regardless of any other form I will ever take or be given, no matter the reincarnations or spiritual events, will be that of a dragon, until the day my soul no longer exists. ^__^

XDDD That is so true, lol! Once when I was in Florida, I was hounded by a flock of Grackles for my french fries o.o I was a little scared of birds for a year or two after that, but now I LURVE them n.n

I saw some at the pet store a long time ago, instantly fell in love n.n I think I just have a thing for white with light brown... and little fluffy birds n.n

I think it started way back when I used to associate myself more with cats, but knew that I loved dogs too, and then came to realize slowly that foxes are kind of like a mixture between a cat and a dog. I've since learned that I have a few similarities with the critters, of course (well... I'm sure any person could find any similarities with any animal they wanted if they looked hard enough), but it didn't influence my original decision.
That, and I like to side with the under-appreciated and the reviled, and foxes fit that bill (in most human societies, anyway; not the furry fandom). They're always either asshole-ish heroes or villains in stories, and I tend to like those kinds of characters more than the archetypal hero. That's the reason I think I'm sticking with it, despite how overused it is.
And on the plus side, they're probably the most adorable animals in the universe. Aside from maybe the pika.

It's always been the hippo for me. I love cats and all, but I feel I connect more with a hippo, plus I think they're a cute animal. More than anything else I used to get called hippo at school, which I hated at first then started to rather enjoy!

I've always loved cats - They's awesome =P
Theres the whole feeling that they know something more than me - The way they look knowingly...yeah...Cats were once worshipped by the Egyptians, so I chose to give my character a desert background - I based him around the Western portrayal of death, as cats are natural predators.
...I like cats.
