Just curious if there was anyone out there who had interest in this,or practiced at all.& if you did what styles have you practiced and which ones would you like to learn?

I myself have only attended one session at a tang soo do gym,but have been on my own on and off practicing self defense for 7-8ish years now.. I also at some point want to open a school,so was also curious just how much interest it would accumulate asking a online group(yeah idk why it to be furries either lol).So also if you run a school or dojo or whatever you call it that would be cool to know.

that's all.

I've practiced Judo for about a year before, and got to a yellow belt before I had to quit. And I tried out some Karate way back when I was 10, but I don't remember anything from it.

That's all I've done though.

Oh alright, cool^^ do you have favorite or a style you'd like to learn aside from those? Like say if you could go anywhere in the world and learn what would you do? or would you stick with Judo and karate?
I've always wanted to formally learn Penchak Silat, but the traveling is a bit much for my bank account.

Two years Taekwondo here. Probably have to go with Mr. Miyagi, since Mr. Popo has no time for ordinary people, and Mr. Meeseeks is terrifying.

Awsome! So what rank are you? Where I'm at,there's three sessions in a year and each session you increase rank. I know each place is different slightly. Also Good choice, though personally would have to be Mr.Popo, simply because he's my favorite anime character...or at least one of them. There's too many. :(

I used to be an orange belt in shotokan. Admittedly that was third grade (one year of training in my case), so I don't remember most of the techniques; but my form is still minimally not-stupid.

If I had the time and access to a dojo, I'd actually be interested in Hankido actually. My VERY superficial googling indicated that it was extremely pragmatic. Apparently Shotokan was designed to be taught to the average person, so I guess it's quite pragmatic too.

I took krav maga for two years before I left the army. I took it as it was marketed as one of the more "street usable" martial arts. As far as what I'd like to take goes, I'd want to attend an MMA style gym, were a good focus is also on working out instead of just an hour of drills per visit.

Well, I've always wanted to learn Krav Maga. Unfortunately I couldn't find a dojo anywhere near where I live that would teach Krav Maga, but if I could travel the world then that's something I would like to try out.

Jackie Chan, I would imagine his comedic value would make him a great teacher. And yes, I've done martial arts.

3-4 years of judo back when I was a child (probably 10-11 years old or so). Wasn't particularly good at it, but participated in a couple of tourneys, and still remember how to throw a dude or two - though not unlike many other martial arts, it's a bit too specific and unreliable for actual self-defense.
If instructor.. Muhammad Ali, definitely. Modern boxing is arguably the most universal and reliable martial art available - instead of fancy moves and complex tackles, it takes more pragmatic approach of "punching as painfully as possible while not getting hit in return"

I'm trying out karate. Still a white belt, but I can't do it now, because I'm on vacation. :)

I'm not well versed in it but I recently and briefly trained in silat. I've learned it's pretty effective because it has nothing to do with raw power, and it's all about learning body mechanics, what points would be most effective to strike and manipulate in a way that will render the opponent incapable of movement rather than brute force, which seems to be the case with other martial arts.

I've learned ways to evade and block oncoming attacks, that's about the extent of my ability, really. Though it's very effective, simply falling into an "L" stance will put you out of the trajectory of a punch and will give you an advantage from the beginning.

Other than that, some self defense training in my teens and karate as a kid.

I actually don't have any continued training so I'm bad at it, but here's hoping "muscle memory" landed me the basics in the event of a real fight

@modfox Oooh Good Luck^^ May the force be with you
@Saiko Oh alright.Never heard of Hankido..Well I've heard the name but never looked it up.& Yes I'd have to agree,From my very short research Shotokan it seems that way.

@Miaq_Al_Sharim Woah! that had to have been an experience ^^ I've never been to a school for Krav maga, but it's one of the styles I research more, and try to learn off of. I think the only problem I have with Krav maga,is that it is effective,(which sounds dumb I know lol ) Like it's good you can defend yourself, but it would be nice to be able to do so without maiming the person in the most brutal way possible lol.but by all means:what must be done, must be done.

@Brejvarr Ulfhedne. Ahh alrighty.Well there's always the internet.(I mean it's not anywhere near the experiance, but it's still something I guess lol)

@Mr. Fox That is so true lol That guy was cool.

@Pipistrele Cool! .idk what your experience was like, but a couple I know where in that and they said people get hurt pretty often during the tournaments or training. Also nice choice ;D

@WolfNightV4X1 Cool! that's probably my favorite style there.Like you say,it's very good for the defensive side of a fight.

@JamesOtters Cool! Keep it up when you get back! lol.

Also Thanks guys^^ I honestly wasn't expecting this much feedback over such a short time.I appreciate the sharing!

I took up chito-ryu karate for about a decade in total. With that said, the dojo I attended also taught kickboxing, and it wasn't uncommon for us to sometimes learn techniques from other martial arts as well.

I've also practiced the kama and the bayonet, the latter being part of my military training.
