"Mated" furs, how did you find your partner?

Pinky

First one said I was nice and sweet, she cheated on me and hates me now. Second one had a crush on me for a while, he dumps me because I was too depressed from the said cheating before. Third left me for someone else (it was an open relationship so I can't complain).

Kinda feel like I should stop dating furries.

Furries are wonderful people to date you just gotta find the right one for you, just like anyone else.

You don't just 'find' someone. You become your own best and someone will eventually come along. :) Don't force yourself on it and just have fun, that plan about getting more involved with the community's a good way to get to know more people and probably bump into someone special. But at the same time, take care of yourself, keep your ears up and just roll with the flow.

Yeah I've had a TON of trouble with this before, I'm not dating online ever again, I'm just not able to handle it I guess.

Really I need someone who keeps me from doing stupid things, I need a calm, sweet, rational person who I can snuggle up to and who won't let me get hurt. :)

I think anyone out there should just go with their gut though- if you see someone you have a quick attraction for, just talk to 'em! It doesn't matter who they are-guy girl, furry, cab driver- just talk to them and have fun with that, it's silly to put rules on it. (I'm very sleepy so if I sound like I'm an idiot, it's the affect of two full-length NASCAR races on a game XD)

My boyfriend and I met on a different forum, the Bad Dragon forum. He's not really a fur though (and I'm not completely either, I do love anthro animals and furry art, but I wouldn't say that defines who I am). Either way, we met when neither of us were really looking for someone, I developed a bit of a crush on him based on his posts, and eventually worked up the nerve to message him because of a sort-of forum game.

Anyway... I think what I'm not sure about is whether or not you're looking to utilize fursuits as part of your sex life? Because if so, then yeah, you probably need to find someone who is a furry or is very open to anything. But if you just appreciate anthro-porn and such, I'm sure there are quite a few non-furs out there who can understand it. And the tough part of life is that there's no right answer to anything regarding relationships and love. When you find him, you probably won't be looking for him.

D.batty, you are a liar. Furries are terrible. :V

In all seriousness, it's best not to look as if "you are looking". It can either scare people away, or attract vermin. If you meet someone and you click, then you've found someone.

And fursuits...Why?

Well, everything that has been said pretty much covers it. I'm just gonna take life one step at a time and see what happens over the next several years as I get more involved. Thanks for all the advice!

Io.

Like, "nya" and stuff
Actually, we met through a bad relationship xD
I know they always say "don't go after the friend when the relationship's over" but there was no "going after". We just became the best of friends, he was like a twin to me (still is). Didn't know he liked furries or if he was even a furry until a few months before we started dating, so I guess him being my "mate" just sort of happened~

I met mine on Second Life. My mate also had to be furry. As has been said, you need to be yourself and be patient. We're a week away from our 7th month living together.

I married a non-fur, who I met via traditional means (at a bar after a few too many shots of tequila). He didn't know anything about furries and when I told him I was one he thought I meant I liked to fuck dogs.

After a little bit of explination, he still thinks I'm fucking weird, though I've convinced him to go to a con with me this october (on the contingency that he can be drunk the whole time). It should be fun to see his reaction to things.

...I'm planning on filming it.

OP, I gotta say, I'm with you. I'm pretty much not sexually attracted to normal people at all and thought I was asexual before joining the fandom. I've never actively searched for anyone as of yet but best of luck to you.

I met him at a party. Didn't think anything "serious" could start like that, but we're now dating since 2007.
(By the way, he's not a furry, but that's not a problem. I waste my free time on furry sites, he wastes his free time in Skyrim. So that never was something we'd have to discuss much. He even enjoys going to cons with me.)

We met, we went out for awhile, i proposed, she said yes. I then proceeded to freak out about telling her i was a furry, only to find out.....She was too .

In all honesty, I met my partner during high school through a few mutual friends. They take interest in my hobbies and such and they wanted to know more about the whole furry thing, so after a while I joked about them making a fursona and well, they actually made one. So now our 'sonas are "mated"

I so want to see that! |)

Met my partner at the first furmeet I ever went to. Took a year or so for the relationship to take off, but we've been together for ten years now and he isn't bored of me yet. <3

I left my "human" mate for a fur I met at a con. While its not really a *good* story, love happens, and we are super happy. I am about 100% happier being with another fur as we can share in so much more... But I mean, it was very coincidental...

I guess its just what you need in your life, and being aware that could change - you are fairly young... Just my 2 cents. I mean, my mate thought he was gay at 19 and through experience learned that wasn't true at all - and I liked to hide all my kinks from the world... so you can always grow/change, I wouldn't rush anything :3

I ended up meeting my mate after deciding to make a Furry thread on Battlelog on a whim. He was actually chatting up lots of other furs there before we met for particular "reasons", but something about me made him want to settle down into a closed-relationship. We've been together for 2.5 years so far, although we live 3500 miles apart.
